Layer extrusion
Film extruded in-house in up to three layers, so the structure starts the way the specification asks for rather than the way stock dictates.
On the floor
Every stage between artwork and despatch runs inside one facility at Dompe. These are the numbers that decide whether your specification is buildable.
Film extruded in-house in up to three layers, so the structure starts the way the specification asks for rather than the way stock dictates.
Solvent-based lamination bonding up to four layers into one structure, matched to the barrier and strength the product needs.
Eight-colour gravure for the work that has to carry fine detail and hold its register run after run.
Ten-colour flexo, reverse or surface printed, for everyday production runs where turnaround matters as much as the finish.
The machines
And after printing
Printed and laminated reels are slit to your width and wound on your core, or converted into finished pouches on site. One team, one specification, one point of accountability from artwork through to the loading bay.
The process
Five stages. Laminated structures take a step out to lamination; monolayer runs go straight from printing to slitting.
Artwork is prepared, colour-separated and proofed in-house. Nothing goes to plate or cylinder until the separation is right, because that is the cheapest place to catch a problem.
Film is extruded in-house, including three-layer co-extruded structures. Gauge, width and properties are set to the specification the packaging calls for.
Reverse printed where the design sits behind the film for gloss and protection, surface printed where the finish calls for it.
Layers are bonded into a single structure, in the combination the product needs. Monolayer runs skip this step.
Material is slit to width and wound on your core, then either despatched as rollstock or converted into finished pouches, sealed, gusseted, zippered and notched as specified.
Capability questions
Straight answers, no round trip through a salesperson.
Every conversion stage: extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting and pouch making, with design and pre-press in front of all of it. Extrusion includes three-layer co-extruded structures, built to the gauge and width the packaging calls for.
Keeping consecutive stages in one building is what keeps a specification intact end to end. A problem caught at printing is a problem we can trace and fix ourselves, the same day, without a conversation between two companies.
Both flexographic and rotogravure printing:
Both reverse and surface printing are available. Reverse printing puts the ink behind the film so the print is protected and the gloss comes through the substrate, which is what you want on premium, high-gloss work.
Solvent-based lamination building structures up to four layers, combined according to what the product has to survive: moisture, oxygen, light, oil, freezing, a vacuum, retort temperatures, or months in a container.
The combination is chosen per job rather than picked off a list. Send us the product and the shelf life you are aiming for and we will specify it. The barrier and performance page covers what each property is for.
Yes. That is the split at the last stage. Material is slit to your web width and wound on your core size for form-fill-seal, flow-wrap and vertical filling lines. If you would rather receive finished packaging, the same material carries on into pouch making and arrives sealed, gusseted, zippered and notched as specified.
Send us the packaging you buy today, or a photograph of it with the dimensions, and we work back from the finished article: the format, the barrier it has to give, the print, and how it runs on your filling line. Most new work starts this way rather than from a written specification. If something about the current packaging is not working, say so in the first message, because that is usually the part worth changing rather than copying.
Yes. Design and pre-press are the first stage of our own process, not an outside service. Artwork is prepared, separated and proofed in-house before any plate or cylinder is cut, and we will flag anything in a supplied file that will not reproduce the way the designer expects: trap, overprint, minimum rule weight, reversed-out type on a busy background.
Yes. We have clean room capability and already supply packaging into medical and personal protective equipment customers, alongside food and personal care. If your product has hygiene requirements that go beyond ordinary food packing, say so at the specification stage and we will scope the run accordingly.
Yes. RCI Flexible Packaging is registered with Sri Lanka's Board of Investment, the government body that approves and regulates export-oriented manufacturers. That status is what lets us supply export producers locally and ship direct to overseas brand owners and co-packers.
